Your Go-To Naturopaths for this Amazing Stage of Life ARE:

Baby is here!  So, now what?

If you completed our natural pregnancy prep program, you are likely very well prepared!  But even the most well-prepared mom's who got this need support.  This program is for you, Mom.

Even the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) has updated its recommendations on postpartum care.  They have stated that new mothers need ongoing care during the fourth trimester, which should replace the main six week check-up, with a period of sustained, holistic support instead.  Every new family should have a comprehensive care plan and a care team that supports the mother's strengths and addresses her multiple, intersecting needs following birth.

ACOG states that postpartum care should be "an ongoing process, rather than a single encounter, with services and support tailored to each woman's individual needs.

When Dr. McNamee had her daughter, she was shocked by just how little support new mom's get.  It's like you become almost invisible after the baby is here.  Baby is the star of the show and you are this vague shadow in the background.  And don't get us wrong - as Mom's, this is the way we like it - we are programmed to focus on our babies at the expense of everything else!

However, whether we like it or not, we need more support than we think.  Especially during that amazing but trying fourth trimester.  And especially as new mom's (but don't get us wrong, this program is useful whether this is your first or tenth baby!)

Dr. McNamee designed this program to fill a gap in the current post-partum care, especially for Mom's.

This program follows you and your baby from the early days after birth all the way to the first birthday.  It is so much more than a well-baby check-up.

Picture
FOR MOM:

It is designed to track all important parameters such as physical mental, emotional, and social health.  A lot of the most common health concerns during the postpartum period, can creep up ever so subtlety, beneath your awareness.  It is so incredibly important to have an objective third-party tracking you closely, so that any health concerns can be quickly diagnosed and treated.  The longer you go without treatment, the more severe and longer-lasting (potentially chronic) these disorders can become.  These disorders can even creep up many months after your baby's birth, when we least suspect them, so ensuring that you have ongoing support, monitoring, and care in the first year of your baby's life is very important.

In this program, we target any conditions that arose during pregnancy as well.  These conditions can give us insights into how the body works and what you are susceptible to.  We aim to re-balance the body with goals to ensure a swift return to optimal health, but we also work a lot on prevention because of the increased risks for the future that go along with developing certain disorders gestationally.

We also discuss important topics like hormone balance, breastfeeding, pumping, formula feeding, breast health, mental health, postpartum depression & anxiety, postpartum thyroiditis, self care, pelvic floor health, sexual and reproductive health, weight loss, and transitions back to work and away from baby.

Picture
FOR BABY:

It is designed to track all important parameters such as physical stats as well as physical, mental, emotional, and social milestones to ensure your baby is growing and progressing at a normal pace and meeting all developmental checkpoints.  We also focus more on working towards optimizing feeding and troubleshooting any issues, as well as an in-depth focus on solid food introduction, including the when's, how's, what's, and where's so you can go into this important change armed with as much information as possible so as to feel confident and have a plan set out.  Food introduction is so vitally important and can literally set the stage for the rest of your baby's life.

We know that you want your baby to get the healthiest start to life, so having a dedicated plan with regards to all the ins and outs of solid food introduction is so helpful in helping you to achieve those goals.

We also focus on baby sleep to work towards optimizing baby's sleep schedules and have a discussion on sleep training as well.  Lastly, we go over some additional common baby illnesses and how to minimize their risk and treat them when they do happen.

By pairing individualized care, along with dietary and lifestyle recommendations, natural health product prescriptions, and acupuncture treatment if needed, in addition to in-depth discussions regarding the topics that matter to you most (both now and in the long-term), this program is specifically designed to best support you and your baby in that first postpartum year, with goals to optimize life-long health for you both.
